My Story: Where Sunada was born

I want to share something more personal this time — my story. Because the truth is, I didn’t arrive here already healthy, resilient, or “disciplined.” I had to stumble, lose my way, and strip back the parts of life that weren’t serving me before I could begin living in alignment with who I am today.

As a kid, I loved being outside — running through forests, climbing trees, and feeling free in my body. But in school, that joy of movement faded. P.E. was repetitive and uninspiring, so I started to think exercise was only for the athletic kids. I lost touch with my natural rhythm and slowly moved further from the body’s innate need for exploration, play, and challenge.

By my late teens and twenties, my life leaned heavily into self-destructive habits. Nights filled with alcohol, parties, and poor food choices became my norm. I barely moved, and my body let me know: gut issues, anxiety, restless sleep, foggy thinking. Doctors gave me pills, but never solutions. And deep down, I knew that numbing the symptoms wasn’t the same as healing the root.

It wasn’t until I stumbled across a yoga DVD that something shifted. Moving with breath gave me a glimpse of a different way of being. It connected body and mind. From there, I experimented: lifting weights, cooking real food, noticing how different I felt after mornings of clarity compared to nights of excess. Slowly, I stripped away what wasn’t serving me — the late nights, the quick fixes, the empty cycle — and started to build a foundation.

That journey eventually led me to India, where I studied yoga in its birthplace. There I learned that well-being is more than exercise or diet. It’s about living in rhythm with ourselves, with our environment, and with each other. Returning home, I became a personal trainer, but I quickly realized how shallow mainstream fitness often is. It was all about appearances: abs, calories, and short-term transformations — while neglecting sleep, stress, food quality, and deeper meaning.

That realization pushed me further. I wanted to understand the “why” behind food and lifestyle, and how deeply they affect not just the body, but the mind, energy, and long-term health. So I trained to become a holistic nutritionist. This gave me the tools to connect the dots between what we eat, how we move, and how we live. I saw firsthand how real food, gut health, and reducing environmental stressors could change not only how someone looked, but how they felt — sharper, calmer, more resilient.

That’s where Sunada was born. Sunada means harmonious, and that’s what I aim to teach. Through my own struggles, I realized that health isn’t about doing more, it’s about realigning. It’s about stripping back the noise — what doesn’t serve us — and returning to the foundations.

At the heart of Sunada are six Foundations — the pillars that shape true resilience, vitality, and harmony. Each one feeds the others, creating a system of health that goes far beyond quick fixes or short-term goals.

  • Movement – Building strength, adaptability, and awareness in all ranges of motion. This is about being capable, not just looking fit.

  • Nutrition – Real, seasonal, whole foods that fuel energy, recovery, and clarity. Food is information for your body.

  • Recovery – Sleep, breath, stillness, and rituals that restore. True performance comes from rest as much as effort.

  • Environment – Creating surroundings that support health, from reducing toxins to spending more time outdoors.

  • Community – Learning, moving, and growing together. We are wired to thrive in groups.

  • Self-Study – Developing awareness of body, mind, and patterns — so you can strip away what doesn’t serve you.

If this resonates, I’d love to help. I offer programs and classes that combine movement, recovery, and education to help you feel better, move better, and live more harmoniously.
